VH1 Doing Big Things With Big Ang

VH1 is joining Angela “Big Ang” Raiola for a wild adventure sure to add a little sizzle to the summer heat.  Known for her breakout appearances on VH1’s hit series “Mob Wives,” Big Ang will be sure to bring laughs as large as her personality with the premiere of VH1’s “Big Ang” on July 8 at 9PM ET/PT.

During her reality television debut in the second season of VH1’s hit series “Mob Wives,” Big Ang became the undeniable sweetheart of Staten Island.  VH1’s “Big Ang” will follow the sassy and loveable leading lady as she hangs out at her popular Staten Island bar, The Drunken Monkey, schmoozing with her inner circle, especially- ‘da wise guys,’ her canine sidekick Lil’ Louis and of course fan favorites from the original “Mob Wives” series.

As the matriarch of her crew, Angela Raiola , aka “Big Ang,” embraces the spotlight with her collection of diamonds and fur. Growing up in the heart of Brooklyn, this self proclaimed “bad girl” comes from mafia royalty. Niece of Salvatore “Sally Dogs” Lombardi, Big Ang has proven she can handle the heat from the gangsters. Her son, Anthony Donofrio, aka A.J., is a 23 year-old ladies man who may have learned a trick or two from his heartbreaking mother. Next is little sister Janine Detore, who is willing to take on anyone who crosses her family, and is deservingly referred to as “The Family Protector.” Additionally, viewers will finally get to meet the lucky guy who won Big Ang’s heart- her husband, the infamous Neil, a 38 year-old sanitation employee.

Big Ang holds family close to her heart and her relationships have proven that friendship and family go hand-in-hand. After 30 years ruling the neighborhood with childhood friend Linda Torres , Big Ang and Linda still know how to get a little crazy and remain inseparable. Jennifer Patafio, aka “Little Jen,” is as loyal to her red lipstick, stilettos and scotch as she is to Big Ang and her wise guys. Completing the rat pack is long-time friend and “nephew” Anthony Cracchiolo .  With his lady killer instincts and an eye for business, Anthony prides himself on his gentlemanly ways and his part in expanding The Drunken Monkey.

VH1’s “Big Ang” is the true definition of “living large.” She lives in a world with larger-than-life laughter and fun, but most importantly, an overwhelming sense of loyalty and love from family and friends.  This wild and eclectic bunch will do just about everything but disappoint.

VH1 Rock Docs Presents The TRL Decade

VH1 will give viewers a chance to relive all the excitement of the screaming fans, unforgettable moments and music-loving Times Square takeover that was mandatory daily viewing for so many with VH1 Rock Docs Presents: “The TRL Decade,” premiering Thursday, December 15  on VH1.

“The TRL Decade” takes a fun and provocative look at the iconic MTV video countdown show, “Total Request Live,” which aired for 10 years (1998-2008). Beginning as a programming experiment, TRL became a cultural phenomenon, serving as a catalyst for the pop music explosion of the late 1990’s and launching the careers of new artists including Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and many others. With a track record of dramatically impacting record sales, TRL soon became the “must” stop on every artist’s press tour, routinely shutting down Times Square with visits ranging from Michael Jackson to Jay-Z to *N’SYNC to Korn.

While the fun was plentiful, there were serious moments as well. The Backstreet Boys memorably chose the platform to announce bandmate AJ McLean’s decision to enter rehab. In an era pre-dating Twitter and Facebook, TRL also became an important forum for both artists and viewers alike to call-in and be heard after the events of 9/11.

This hour-long special features extensive clips and interviews with creators, fans and artists who appeared on the show, including Good Charlotte , Kid Rock , *N’SYNC , Mandy Moore , Nas , Pete Wentz , Korn , Method Man , Lil Jon and others. Former MTV VJ’s Carson Daly, Damien Fahey, Hilarie Burton, Vanessa Minnillo and La La Anthony also give in-depth interviews and share uncensored moments from the show.

“Love & Hip Hop” Season 2 – Premieres Monday, November 14

VH1’s hit docu-soap series Love & Hip Hop returns for its second season, picking up where the first season left off, following the lives of six vibrant women, each with a link to the exciting, glamorous and high-stress world of hip hop.

The leader of the pack is Chrissy Lampkin , long time girlfriend of superstar rapper Jim Jones.  Last season Chrissy made a bold move and proposed to Jim.  This season, she’s still waiting for that wedding.  Maybe it’s Jim’s fear of commitment or maybe it’s Chrissy’s tense relationship with Jim’s mom Nancy – either way, Chrissy has made it clear that she’s not willing to wait much longer.  At the end of season one, Olivia Longott had finally stepped out of from the shadows of her old crew, 50 Cent’s G-Unit, and released a new single, “December.”  But after some initial buzz, Olivia is back where she started; hustling harder than ever to launch a solo career and get signed by a major label.  Last season, celebrity stylist, Emily Bustamante tried desperately to get a real commitment from her son’s father, rap star Fabolous.  Unwilling to live in the shadows any longer, she has finally decided to move out on her own and start a Fab-u-less new life.  Somaya Reece, the Latina Bombshell who made her entrance last season is back again, with killer curves and a fierce commitment to do whatever it takes to launch her rap career.

Two new faces joining the group are Kimberly “Kimbella” Vanderhee and Yandy Smith . New to the Love & Hip Hop” franchise, Kimbella is a sexy bi-racial model ready to try her luck at the pop music game.  She’s linked to the group by Dipset crew member and rapper Juelz Santana, with whom she shares a son, but fitting in with the other women may prove difficult. Yandy Smith , long time manager of rapper Jim Jones, is an entertainment powerhouse, having worked with big names such as Missy Elliott, Busta Rhymes and Cameron to name a few.  In addition to being friends with both Chrissy and Kimbella, she’s also the glue that holds the Dipset crew together.

This one-hour, 10 episode series will follow these six women as they navigate their professional and love lives in a world where opportunity, fame, excitement and money is always in sight … but sometimes just out of reach.

Viewers can catch sneak peeks of the premiere episodes for each series on VH1.com the week before they premiere on air. Subsequent episodes will be available on VH1.com after they air. Additional video content from each series including bonus scenes and exclusive extras from each episode will be available on VH1.com and on VH1 Mobile throughout the season.
