Chicago Jazz Festival

The 32nd Annual Chicago Jazz Festival, Chicago’s longest running lakefront music festival, continues its Labor Day weekend tradition and expands to locales around Grant Park.

The festival will take place September 2-5, 2010 and, for the first time, the festival will happen in three separate locations: Millennium Park, the Chicago Cultural Center and Grant Park for the Saturday and Sunday portions of the festival. Four stages will offer free jazz music in Grant Park, including the Young Jazz Lions Stage, made possible by The Chicago Community Trust.

Longtime Chicago Jazz great Ramsey Lewis will celebrate his 75th birthday with a concert on Friday, Sept. 3 at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion in Millennium Park. Other performing highlights throughout the weekend include Artist-in-Residence, Nicole Mitchell, Kurt Elling, René Marie and Henry Threadgill. The complete schedule for the free admission festival is available on the Chicago Jazz Festival website, www.chicagojazzfestival.us
